When I think of raw desserts, my mind immediately goes to all the spoonfuls of unbaked cookie dough and brownie batter I've ingested in my 25 years. I just love licking the spatula (and bowl), though I know every bite flirts with salmonella.
Turns out there are safer sweets I can enjoy raw. No-bake desserts (often called raw) are made from unprocessed nuts, fruit, and natural sweeteners like maple syrup. While they aren't pegged to any specific diet, many raw recipes overlap with vegan, gluten-free, or paleo lifestyles. Also, because raw desserts don't undergo intense oven heat, they can be full of healthy enzymes and vitamins.
